Dear Friends

We are pleased to share the roll out of a major initiative by the Centre for Regulatory Governance (CRG) at the Jindal Global Law School in OP Jindal Global University.

CRG is a very new institution that aims to strengthen the effectiveness, accountability, and transparency of regulatory institutions in India. We work to develop data-driven insights into India's regulatory environment, while fostering collaboration between regulatory bodies, academics, and civil society organisations. There are no parallel institutions in India that analyse regulatory institutions this way.

We are proud to announce the launch of our First Scoping Report on Regulatory Governance in India.

This inaugural volume features peer-reviewed insights from leading experts, faculty, and student associates. Notably, this launch aligns with the call for a high-level Committee for Regulatory Reforms in the Union Budget 2025-26, which emphasised the shift of the government, aiming to establish a flexible, trust-based, and modern regulatory framework suited for the 21st century.

The session will be held on the 24 April 2026, in Mumbai.

We are honoured to have Ms Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairperson and CEO, Salesforce - South Asia and Former Chairman, State Bank of India, to chair the session in the presence of Dr. C Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor of the Jindal Global University to release the report.

CRG is at the forefront of policy evolution, and we have been supported by a growing ring of policy experts and academic experts from across India and abroad. The list includes Mr U.K. Sinha, Former Chairperson, SEBI, Mr Debasish Panda, Former Chairman, IRDAI and Mr Sudhir Rahate, Chairman, AERA and Dr MS Sahoo, Former Chairman of IBBI. Some of these details are highlighted with details on our website: https://crg.jgu.edu.in/ and through our monthly newsletters.

As opinion leaders in the sector and as friends of CRG, we shall be vastly delighted to have you with us to discuss the report and offer your valuable suggestions at the session.

We would keenly look forward to your favourable response. Kindly block your calendar accordingly.

Meanwhile, if you need any further information, do please contact my colleague, Mr Ajay Nagpal at ajaykumar@jgu.edu.in or crg@jgu.edu.in.
